According to a survey carried out by Country Life Magazine, The county of Devon is the best place to live in England. The county of Devon is situated in South West England and is bordered by Somerset, Dorset and Cornwall.

It has two separate coastlines of golden beaches and the idyllic seaside resort towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham are situated on what’s called the “English Riviera” because of the thousands of holiday makers they attract each year.

The county has many historic market towns and cities, two National Parks, Dartmoor and Exmoor. The beautiful rolling landscape is dotted with many fine examples of ancient monuments, cathedrals, abbeys and castles. It’s no surprise that the people living there, be it in a thriving town, or little market village with thatched houses, local pub, church and pond, enjoy a better quality of life than anywhere else in England.
